Sun 28˚ 33' Sagittarius
Moon 28˚ 33' Sagittarius
As we approach the shortest day and
longest night, the winter solstice marks the lowest passage of the
Sun across the sky. How bright its been looking due to it being so
low on the horizon. Winter is truly an amazing time the birds come
for their fill of nuts. The red
berries of the evergreen holly are in abundance and the apple orchards
are full of mistletoe. Around the 21st of December people will
gather at Stonehenge to honour the Solstice Sunrise. The actual
solstice point is when the Sun enters Capricorn on the 22nd of Dec
at 0.23am.
The last lunation of 2006 is the new
Moon on the 20th of Dec. The
Sun and Moon come together in the sign of Sagittarius conjunct Pluto. There
are six planets in Sagittarius which are Jupiter, Mars Mercury, Pluto,
Sun and Moon. The Sun, Moon and Pluto are all trine Saturn in
Leo. Sagittarius is mutable fire – very enthusiastic optimistic
and can go overboard, blowing things out of proportion. Sagittarius
likes freedom is philosophical and very moralistic. Things have
certainly become more hectic, there seems like a hundred and one things
to do and they all needed doing yesterday. Sagittarius sometimes
thinks there are 36 hours to a 24 hour day. Sun, Moon Pluto conjunct
in the 8th house, often its not until a couple of days after the new
moon that the truth reveals itself of what’s been going on, a bit like
the new moon – we only see it when it’s a few days old. Due to
Pluto’s involvement, there will be a lot of intense feelings with the
potential of transformation, letting go of the past, reclaiming something
that ahs been left behind. The New moon is a good time to sow
the seeds for the future.
Taurus is on the ascendant and Venus
its ruler it in Capricorn in the 9th. Taurus is very grounded and appreciates the good things
in life. Venus in Capricorn values a solid foundation although
can have difficulty with its own self value and worth. The 9th
house connects us to our faith and beliefs. There’s a strong Jupiter/Sagittarius
theme to this chart, what do we really belive in – what unites us together. Venus
is sextile Uranus, Uranus has an unexpected quality, asking us to be
true to ourselves. The suffering of humanity connects us on a
collective level and helps us become clear of our priorities. Our
belief is what we fall back on and helps us to see things through.
I leave you with a quote:
‘By celebrating the earth’s cycles we can empower ourselves in new
and inspiring ways, we are free to follow our sense of integrity
and to trust in our inherent intuitive abilities. Now at the
start of a new era, we find ourselves released from the fearful belief
system which ad us bound to the concept of separation and open to
the experience of love as a uniting force which leads us to rediscover
the sacred in ourselves and all that surrounds us. Every single
thing we do which is life affirming, aids the process of healing
ourselves, each other and the Earth.’ Glennie Kindred – Sacred
Celebration
