Full Moon Sun 12˚ 58' Scorpio There’s something very special about the blueness of the sky at this time of year. We have experienced the first frost and how wonderful the Earth looks when its crispy white – everything it much more defined. The night skies have been really clear and to watch Orion rise is a truly beautiful site. The night of Guy Fawkes is upon us and lots of people will be gathering around fires, and the heavens will be alight with endless colours of fireworks. We are approaching the midpoint between the Autumn equinox and the winter Solstice - Samhain, one of the ancient festivals of the year, a power-point in time. We have become aware of the nights drawing in and for lots of us, it’s dark when we rise and dark when we return from work. Samhain is a time when we remember our dead, the loved ones who have gone. All over the world there are festivals of the dead. The veils between the worlds are thin, light a candle, reflect for a moment, remember and send love. The full Moon is in Taurus with the opposition in Scorpio. Included in this opposition is Mars and Saturn and Mercury. There are five planets in Scorpio – Mars, Sun, Venus, Mercury and Jupiter, making this a very intense and passionate time. The Sun and Moon are once again sitting on the midpoint of Venus and Mars. Due to the stellium in Scorpio it brings Mars, Sun, Venus, Mercury into a T square with Neptune and the Moon. Mercury and Jupiter are square Saturn, reflecting a lot of fixed energy. Are we too stubborn for our own good? Do we not know when to let go? Are there lots of people feeling like they are stuck in a rut and can’t get out? Scorpio has an amazing ability to transform, heal and let go. People often feel uncomfortable with Scorpio energy, saying, ‘Oh Scorpio – watch out, they have a sting in their tails and you don’t want to be on the end of that!’ Well Scorpio can go where other people fear to tread and have amazing compassion and acceptance. Scorpio is the ruler of the eighth house naturally and is to do with taxes, other people’s money and inheritance. The Stern report (a good name reflecting Mercury and Saturn) has given a stark warning about climate changes that are upon us and the UK government have been talking about green taxes, creating lots of debate amongst people. We live in a throwaway society – how much do we really care about this planet Earth that is our home and what do we want for our children and grandchildren to inherit? We are all so busy not giving ourselves time to reflect, how can we manage our time so we have more? Mercury is retrograde until the 18th of November. On a mental level, it feels like we are going over old ground. We will be hearing more about the environmental issues. Don’t worry about the things you can’t do, just do the things you can. Scorpio likes to transform, reuse, recycle. Put a brick in your toilet system and save water. Moon in Taurus – share a bath – walk somewhere - connect with the Earth. Let this planet show you her hidden beauty. I leave you with a quote from Phyllis W Curott
