The nights are drawing in and autumn is around the corner. The farmers
have started to harvest their crops and the leaves are changing colour.
There is an abundance of blackberries and the hawthorns are full of
red berries. The apple trees are packed with fruit and nature gives
the feeling that there is plenty to go round. I’m always amazed at
how the earth keeps on producing, even when the weather has been as
bad as it has been. I don’t know about you but it feels like we haven’t
had a summer. Maybe we will have a warm September or is my Sagittarius
Moon just being hopeful?
The Night Sky.
I have been feeling quite bereft at not having any clear nights and
have missed seeing the stars and planets. On a clear night we would
see Venus and Mars and possibly Mercury. What a treat. Jupiter is
still shinning bright in the south and adorns our evening sky for
quite a few hours. If you’re up around two in the morning you will
see the Pleiades rise. This group of stars is known to be markers
of the changing seasons, and the coming of winter.
The new Moon chart.
I am very intrigued by this new Moon chart, due to the large 6th house
emphasis. The Sun, Moon and Saturn are conjunct in Virgo in the 6th
house. Venus, Mercury and Mars are also in the 6th but in the sign
of Libra. Virgo is the natural ruler of the 6th and in mundane astrology
this area has rulership over work and the health of the nation. Every
day we are hearing of more redundancies and how cancer is on the
increase.
Virgo is an Earth sign and l cant help but feel that this beautiful
planet that we live on is asking us to change our ways. Charles and
Suzi Harvey in “Principles of Astrology” write that the essence of
Virgo is linked with the sacred integrity of the Earth. They also say
that Virgo exemplifies the efficiency of the Earth. With Saturn being
in Virgo, there could be a collective feeling of not doing enough and
not being good enough. There could be articles in the paper about the
health of the country and how indulgent we are as a nation. Mercury
rules the 6th house and the sign of Virgo suggesting that there is
a collective anxiety of what the future may bring.
Virgo is a practical sign and once it gets over being so critical
and stops seeking perfection, it has the ability to sort out the dross.
This sign needs to have a routine and the best way to work with routine
is to make a ritual out of it. Virgo reflects on how we go about giving
service not only to other people but also to ourselves. This chart
asks us to look at how we take care of our planet.
Mars, the chart ruler, is in Libra and asks us to find the balance
in our lives. Aries, the sign that is ruled by Mars, is in the pioneering
sign of the zodiac, implying that we need to find new ways of living
in harmony with the Earth.
Jupiter in Capricorn, the most elevated planet of the chart, trines
the Sun. Moon and Saturn and squares Venus, Mercury and Mars, suggesting
that the government might issue new laws in connection with the health
service or the spending of money on luxury items. What ever happens
it’s going to have an effect on the public.
I leave you with a quote:
Only after the last tree has been cut down.
Only after the last river has been poisoned.
Only after the last fish has been caught.
Only then will you find that money cannot be eaten.

Blessing of this new Moon to you all.
