Full Moon - eclipse
21st February 3.32am GMT
Sun at 1˚ 53 ' Pisces
Moon at 1˚ 53 ' Virgo
The land has once again been carpeted
in a white gown of frost, making the landscape much more clearly
defined against the backdrop of the horizon. The Earth reveals many
of her secrets at this time of year, which will soon disappear behind
the green foliage of new growth. The length of the days is
increasing and the birds are more active. People are starting to
prepare their gardens for the coming of spring, for if one looks
closely enough there are lots of fresh buds appearing everywhere.
The first quiver within the Earth has begun.
The amazing colors of the sky
The golden color of the sky has been an amazing sight, making the sunrises
and sunsets very special. I have never experienced seeing the sky
so vibrant before. Then after this fantastic light show, we have
been blessed by really clear night skies. Its great to look up and
see Mars directly above us just after sunset. Saturn rises
later on and is close to the constellation of Leo. The icing on the
cake has been the Moonlight, which has been beckoning me to go Moon
bathing.
The separating conjunction of Venus and Jupiter that has been adorning
our skies before sunrise has also been spectacular to watch. Soon
Venus will disappear from the morning sky and later in the year it
will reappear as the evening star.
Lunar eclipses
The ancients saw eclipses as important portents of future events. Having
an ominous or prophetic significance. This full Moon is a total lunar
eclipse and if the skies are clear we will be able to see to it here
in the UK and in much of the rest of the world. The Sun and Moon
are opposite each other and the Earth comes in between the two luminaries,
casting a shadow upon the Moons surface. This eclipse will
start happening around 1.42 am, is total at 3.00am and ends at 5.00am.
Lunar eclipses have a longer duration than solar eclipses, although
maybe they are not given so much significance. I’m not so sure l
feel this should be the case. After all the Moon is our closest neighbour,
having an amazing affect on our oceans and sea’s and, as our own
bodies are mostly water, it must also have an affect on us directly.
I feel that lunar eclipses affect our emotions and work on a subconscious
level, although because the Moon is being blocked out by the Earth’s
shadow, it could take some time before we become aware of what’s going
on.

The chart of the full Moon.
The Sun in Pisces in the 2nd is opposite the Moon, Saturn conjunction
in Virgo in the 8th. Being very intuitive, Pisces is receptive to
other people’s feelings and can often find it difficult to be clear
about their own boundaries. This is because they lose themselves
in others and are not able to say that they need space. They have
a tendency to become unavailable through escapism in drugs or alcoholism.
Addictions are one way that we can avoid our full potential. Pisces
is a very creative sign. This placement of the Sun asks us to be
compassionate, self –sacrificing and forgiving, especially to ourselves.
The Moon Saturn conjunction says something very different, it gives
the message that it’s not good to be having the feelings that you’re
having. Virgo doesn’t really have time for feelings, there’s work to
be done and you only have so much time to do it in. So you’d better
hurry up and get on with it. Oh and by the way you haven’t done that
properly….. Virgo can have a very critical and exacting side to it.
However, Virgo is the crafts-man of the zodiac and has an amazing ability
for precision. So remember not to give yourselves or others a hard
time for imperfection - we all have our own faults.
Venus and Mercury are applying to a conjunction with
each other and Mercury is now going direct. Hopefully our computers,
machinery and telephones will all start behaving themselves once again.
So we can look forward to communication becoming smoother and more
pleasant.
Mars and Pluto are still in opposition
and are very close to the ascendant and descendant angles of this
chart. Therefore,
we are still being asked to redirect our energy. Especially in one
to one relationships. Remember that in order to value others; we need
to value ourselves first
I leave you with a quote from the Dalai Lama’s Little
Book of Wisdom.
‘With the realization of one’s own potential and self confidence in
one’s ability, one can build a better world.’
l hope the skies are clear and that you get to see the
lunar eclipse where ever you may be.
I wish you all a happy full Moon. Linda Day.
