Sun at 13˚ 34 ' Gemini
Moon at 13˚ 34 ' Gemini
The gardens are alive with growth
and the land is filled with many different colours. There are numerous
shades of green; all the trees except for the ash are full of foliage.
There’s a saying that goes: oak before ash we’re in for a splash;
ash before oak we are in for a soak. I don’t think l have ever seen
the ash out before the oak. Although
at the moment, we are experiencing a lot of rain. Yesterday, l noticed
the river Wye was quite high again.
The night sky
Mars and Saturn are getting closer and closer together and will conjunct
in early July. They are visible in the sky just after sunset and Jupiter
will rise a few hours later. Of course, a few days after the new Moon
it’s always exciting to catch a glimpse of the slither of the Moon.
The chart of the new Moon
The Sun and Moon are conjunct Mercury
and Venus in the 7th and sextile Mars in the 8th in Leo. In one way
or another, all the personal planets are involved with each other
in this lunation. Mercury the ruler of the new Moon is retrograde
and will be until the 19th June, the day after the next full Moon.
Gemini and Mercury rule communication and commerce. On the 27th May,
the Guardian ran the headlines: “Crisis talks on global food prices”. The price of rice has doubled since
January and dairy products, soya, wheat and sugar have all seen increases
in cost. The article highlights the affect this is having on the poorer
countries of the world. The British public are also having to tighten
their belts. The cost of diesel and petrol rise daily, the cost of
basic foods are rising and apparently the travel industry has come
to a stand still. Over the coming months, we will see more articles
like that one.
The chart of the new Moon has Sagittarius rising and Jupiter the chart
ruler is in Capricorn in the 2nd unaspected except to Uranus. The ascendant
is 5˚ Sagittarius, which is classed as the degree of flight. So, issues
around aviation fuel could be in the headlines. Jupiter binds us and
helps us to feel connected to other people through our beliefs. In
Capricorn, Jupiter is asking us to take a look at our beliefs around
our basic structures. Jupiter’s over indulgence can lead to excess,
waste and sloppiness, giving the feeling it’s above the law.
Pluto has dipped its toe into Capricorn and is now on its way back
to Sagittarius. Its short duration in Capricorn has highlighted the
issue of sustainability. By the time of the full Moon on the 18th June,
it’s back in Sagittarius conjunct the full Moon and opposite the Sun
and Venus, highlighting the money crisis.
At the new Moon, watch the news headlines
as we are likely to see a repetition around the 18th June, when Mercury
retrogrades to 13˚, the same degree as the New Moon. Don’t forget
Mercury retrograde delays communication, plans can go awry, directions
can be misunderstood and traffic jams can be more of an issue.
On a final note, the Dalai Lama has been here giving talks about
finding inner happiness. He highlights how small the world has become
and the ever increasing demands on the environment. How we
need to become more aware of how we affect each other and thus become
more community minded.
I leave you with a quote:
“Watch and listen to the night sky. It speaks.”
