Full Moon
21st March 18.41 GMT
Sun at 1˚ 32 ' Aries
Moon at 1˚ 32 ' Libra
Spring has sprung and everywhere you look nature is alive. The hedgerows
are a mixture of colour: the yellow gorse, the white blackthorn and
the green new shoots of the hawthorn. This fresh energy is beautiful
to see.
The winds have been very strong here in England
and instead of coming from the southwest, its been blowing from the
northeast, bringing a cold chill with it. I have read that
the wind was important to past generations of farmers, for it would
break up the topsoil, making the vital sowing of corn possible. Unfortunately,
here in Herefordshire the fields are flooded once again, making it
hard for farmers to work the land. l wonder how much more saturation
the land can take.
The night sky
On a clear night we are still able to see Mars and Saturn.
The spring equinox
The spring equinox is the day before the full Moon and this is the
time of year when the Sun crosses the celestial equator from the
southern hemisphere into the northern hemisphere, giving us equal
days and nights. How wonderful it is to have more daylight!
This year Easter and the spring or vernal equinox coincide with each
other. Have you ever wondered why Easter falls on a different date
each year? Well, Easter Sunday is always celebrated on the first Sunday
following the full Moon on or after the spring equinox. Easter can
fall early as it does this year, or at anytime during the following
month.
The Sun is at 0 degrees of Aries, the vernal equinox point, marking
its passage into the northern hemisphere where it assumes a new, more
powerful energy, making this a time of transition. A new cycle is beginning
and the Sun starts a fresh journey around the zodiac.
The cardinal sign of Aries is the spring equinox, Cancer is the sign
of the summer solstice, Libra is the sign of the autumn equinox and
Capricorn is the sign of the winter solstice. These are the initiating
signs of the zodiac. They are of fundamental importance and affect
things on a basic level. They urge us to take action.
The full Moon chart.
This is a very powerful time for not only do we have the full Moon,
we also have the spring equinox. This is activating the first degrees
of the cardinal signs, triggering a lot of change in the world at
large.
The Sun, Moon, Mars and Pluto are currently in the cardinal signs
of Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn, forming a very powerful grand
cross. This combination is assertive, impulsive and challenging, often
facing things head on, lacking patience and becoming very restless
when things don’t move quick enough.
Grand crosses have a very challenging energy; the cardinal grand cross
brings a crisis of identity. I have heard a lot of people talking about
the profound changes they are going through.
The four points of the grand cross
Aries is independent and self-orientated. The Sun in Aries is the initiator
and has a very pioneering quality; the seed is sown for new beginnings,
Aries likes a challenge, although becomes very bored really easily,
so doesn’t have staying power.
Cancer is dependant and very family orientated. Mars in Cancer is
very protective of family values and is asking us to become aware of
how we feed and nurture ourselves. This placement can create moodiness
and irritability. Cancer is a very sensitive sign and it can take some
time for Cancerians to know what they are really feeling.
Libra is concerned with fairness and is aware of other peoples needs.
Libra can find it hard to make decisions and often ends up sitting
on the fence. They are the diplomats of the zodiac. The full Moon in
Libra will make us very aware of other people’s feelings.
Capricorn is concerned with authority and our social status. It’s
also aware of boundaries and responsibilities, knowing its limits.
Pluto in Capricorn is asking us to take a serious look at our structures
and transform them.
What a mixture!
Not to mention the way that all the other planets are placed in the
chart. We will be hearing more about the bank crisis and the knock
on effect that this is going to have on the housing market. The credit
crash is well on its way. Will luxury items be a thing of the past?
We really need to look at what we actually require and what sustains
us. We really need to come together and start working in communities.
Community means having a common unity. Listen to the Earth, take
care of this lovely planet for it is our home and provider.
I leave you with a quote:
“Be realistic, plan for a miracle.”
Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh
Blessing of the full Moon and a happy spring equinox to you all.
