Moon at 5˚ 50 ' Sagittarius
Nearly all the trees are bare except for the Oak and
what a beautiful golden colour their old leaves have. I love this time
of year, when you can see the hidden landscape revealed. It’s like
the veil between the worlds is disappearing, even though there’s the
feeling that everything is retreating. I’m amazed to see the new growth
already appearing. There are catkins, honeysuckle and even forget-me-nots
to be seen. The Yews, Hollys and Ivy are a constant reminder that the
life force continues. Daily I give thanks to this beautiful planet
that is our home.
Since l last wrote the Moon report, there have been lots
of changes happening. Here in Herefordshire we have experienced snow,
rains like l have never seen before and really bad flooding of the
land.
America has a new president. It shows what people power
can do. I have heard it said that the election brought out more people
to vote than ever before. It gives me hope for the future and a feeling
that we are ready for a collective change.
Here in England we have our own people power happening.
Consumerism has dropped and the government, banks and retail businesses
are having to have a serious rethink. The price wars in the shops are
unbelievable. This again raises lots of questions for me, the main
one being is how much over the odds do we pay for things? The potential
for our relationship to money to change is very prominent at this moment
in time. I do have the feeling that the power is with the people.
The Night Sky
There have been some of the most amazing sunsets just recently;
the colours of the night’s sky have been fantastic. Around the time
of the last full moon, we were blessed with a few clear skies and how
wonderful it was to bathe in the moonlight.
Orion, Sirius and the Pleiades adorn the heavens. I love to lie in
bed and see Sirius twinkling its different colours of red, blue and
green. It’s sited just below the constellation of Orion and is also
known as the Dog Star. The Plough, also known as the Big Dipper or
the Great Bear, now points upward, showing us that the bear is going
into hibernation.
The Chart of the New Moon
Everything is contained within the wall of the opposition
of Saturn and Uranus, It feels like the lid is on and there’s loads
going on behind the scenes. The Sun, Moon, Mercury and Mars are all
in Sagittarius in the 6th house. Mercury is strong, being the chart
ruler. So it makes me think we could experience some very forceful
communication. Maybe there will be more worries about people losing
their jobs. As I write this, the news on the telly is reporting that
the government is thinking about reducing VAT and taxes for the lowest
income earners and helping homeowners who are finding their repayments
difficult. Although it is also being said that England could go even
more into debt and that we, the people, will end up paying for it in
the future. I wonder if Alistair Darling has a tenanted Sagittarius
in his chart or a prominent Jupiter? He certainly seems to be taking
the country into a place of living beyond its assets. The large emphasis
in Sagittarius can give the feeling that we can do everything and have
it all. Once again I think of Sagittarius’ capacity to live beyond
its means. It’s all right having high ideals but what about the practicality
of it? Where does all this money the government is finding come from?
Are we putting ourselves into serious debt with other countries?
Pluto’s entry into Capricorn will ask us to think about
the reality of our lifestyle. Are we living beyond our means? If we
carry on in the way we are, how long is it going to be sustainable
for and what are our resources? We must come down to earth on all levels.
Venus and Jupiter are conjunct in Capricorn and trine
Saturn giving the feeling that we need to be cautious especially where
other peoples’ money is concerned. We could experience the banks making
more announcements about the interest rates.
Neptune on the midheaven can indicate that there is some
deception going on somewhere and everything is not as clear as it seems.
This chart expresses a need to look at our beliefs around
commerce and to take a good look at how we are spending our money or
how our money is being spent for us.
The chart of the full Moon on the 12th December has a
grand cross contained with in it, suggesting that the run-up to Christmas
could be a very challenging time. The Moon is outside of the wall of
the Saturn/Uranus opposition. There is a real push-me pull-you element
to this chart, which suggests that lots of people will have the feeling
that they have worked really hard and deserve some fun time. The difficult
aspects of this chart are creating a huge amount of personal and collective
pressure, indicating that we need to be adaptable and flexible in facing
the challenges that are sure to come..
Blessing of this lunation to you all. I leave you with
a quote.
“Change is the only thing that is constant in life.”
I’m not sure where this quote comes from.
