New Moon
25th April 04.24 BST
Sun at 5˚ 05' Taurus
Moon at 5˚ 05' Taurus
The earth is alive with colour and abundant growth. How
many shades of green are there? The hedgerows are teaming with life.
The blossom is appearing on the apple trees and how beautiful it smells!
My favorite plant, the Forget Me Not covers my garden. The local wood
is covered in bluebells and a wonderful blue hue blankets the ground.
The swifts and swallows are returning and the dawn chorus is amazing. The Earth
astounds me; how each year the life force returns, tantalizing our senses with
the different colours, fragrances and the many different species that share this
planet with us.
The Night Sky.
The sunsets have been amazing. I have been enjoying connecting
with the constellation of Leo and seeing Saturn. If you’re up in the
middle of the night, the top part of the constellation of Scorpio is
to be seen in the south. I was awake before dawn the other morning
and saw the old crescent Moon. What a delight! I always count my blessings
- that I am given the opportunity to witness our ever-changing skies.
The New Moon chart
Well after months of going on about the Saturn/Uranus
opposition, this chart has a very different feeling. The Sun and Moon
are together in the earthy sign of Taurus, giving us the impression
of stability. The Sun is shining; people are feeling more relaxed and
maybe the worries of the last few months are becoming a distant memory.
Taurus is often referred to as one of the lazy signs of the zodiac.
Taureans like to take it easy and revel in fulfilling the senses. They
are very practical and naturally resist change, often enduring a given
situation to well past its sell-by date. .
The Sun and Moon are in trine aspect to Pluto. This configuration continues
the theme of the past couple of months, that of being given an amazing
opportunity to change our values and our relationship to money. Although
with Pluto in Capricorn in the 10th house, I think that it’s the government
and the banks that need to change their attitudes to money.
Venus and Mars are squaring Pluto, with Venus applying to its last
and final square with this planet. Maybe something that has been hidden
from the people will come to light? It does seem to have gone quiet
around what is happening with the monetary system.
I was lucky enough to go away recently and practically experience the
pound and the euro being of almost equal value. It made everything
seem so expensive. It certainly gave me a reality check and put many
things into perspective.
Something that fascinates me about this chart is the strong Jupiter/Neptune
emphasis. These two planets form a series of conjunctions from 27th
May until 21st December 2009. Jupiter and Neptune have quite a lot
in common; they can both be quite idealistic and have grand ideas;
both are faith oriented. Warm hearted and seemingly wanting the best
for everyone, Jupiter is religious and Neptune is mystical. As I’ve
mentioned in previous Moon reports, there is a lot of activity in the
heavens and this is reflected in what’s happening to the collective.
Nearly everyone I come across is having some sort of profound experience.
There are major shifts happening across the globe, some we are aware
of and others that are still to come to light. Right now I think that
the majority of the people could do with the sort of enlightening experience
which at best, the Jupiter/Neptune conjunction could bring but as it
could also create a lot of illusion, it’s definitely a time to be aware
of false promises. On another note, because this configuration happens
in Aquarius. I wonder if the sales of solar panels and wind generators
will increase?
Before the next Full Moon on the 9th May we will experience the energy
of Beltane.
Beltane.
We are half way between the spring equinox and summer solstice. The
cross quarter days, as they are known, are the times when nature’s
response to the energy changes that came into motion at the solstices
and equinoxes, become very visible in its seasonal changes. The middle
[15°] of the fixed signs is 45° degrees away from 0° of the cardinal
signs and these points are classed as power points in time. The ancient
people believed that at the cross-quarter days, the boundaries between
the physical and the spiritual worlds are more permeable, which can
lead to higher states of consciousness and that they are therefore
a good time for shamanic journeys into other realms.
This particular ancient fire festival is known, as Beltane and falls
when the sun is in Taurus. This is the time of high spring, a time
when nature is alive, vibrant and fertile. Humans, animals and plants
are sexually awake. The earth is wearing her green garment; the goddess
is full of her plenty; the maypole is erect and there is love in the
air. Couples weave the ribbons of the maypole whilst dancing around
the erect phallus which is planted in the womb of the earth; the sap
rises and people have the urge to play and frolic. This is the festival
of the goddess of love. The wide spread fornication associated with
this festival was thought to encourage the growing crops. May was a
honeymoon of sexual license, when marriage bonds were temporarily held
in abeyance.
The days are noticeably longer and the heavens warm and the earth blooms.
This is a time of growth and evaluation.
The Full Moon 9th May 2009.
In the full moon chart the Sun and Moon are square to the Jupiter Neptune
configuration in Aquarius. On this note l will leave with a quote from
Bill Tierney from Alive and well with Neptune. “Prosperity may be in
the air, but it requires that we remain alert and grounded when things
open up for us. We can’t afford to be blinded by illusionary glamour
or deceptive forms of invincibility. The limitations that we don’t
see at the moment are still there, waiting to be confronted with Saturnian
restraints later. We can’t make such limitations vanish by using a
few credit cards.”
Blessing of the Full Moon to you all. Linda Day.
