Being
stuck here in France due to the Icelandic volcano
eruption, my flight has been delayed. I am truly
out of my comfort zone in writing this Moon report,
not being at my computer or having my familiar
props around me. The Internet is hit and miss and
I am hand drawing charts and working out the calculations
in my head. Saturn is squaring my Moon for the
second time and I am being forced to look at how
I deal with pressure and my real or imagined responsibilities
to other people.
After having a really restless nights sleep with
thoughts of the Moon report going around and around
in my head, I decided to get up and stand in the
back garden of the lovely French farm house in
which I have been staying. What a joy it was to
hear the cuckoo and the tree frogs, to see the
sunrise and give blessings for a new day. So at
this moment in time, I am in tune with what is
happening in the French countryside. The swallows
and the swifts are flying about. The Oak and Ash
are in leaf. The wisteria is in full bloom with
the most delicate purple flowers and the smell
is fantastic. I give thanks to this time for slowing
me down. Hail Saturn.
The Night Sky
The Moon/Venus conjunction was a spectacular event
to be seen. I was lucky to observe it with six
other women. We all sat out under clear skies
and bathed in the light of these two beautiful
feminine planets. Unfortunately, I didn’t get
to see Mercury. However, while on a journey here
in France, I ended up having a picnic beside
a French observatory and noticed they had met
to observe the Mercury/Venus conjunction.
Mars is still high in the sky after sunset and
is now on its journey towards Saturn. As l write
this. I am hoping to see the Moon/Saturn conjunction
in Virgo this evening [25\4\10]. As I have mentioned
above, this will be square to my own natal Moon/Saturn
conjunction in Sagittarius. I feel like the heavenly
gods are revealing themselves and giving me an
amazing opportunity for growth.
Beltane 5th May 2010
This is the day when the Sun is at 15 degrees of
Taurus, marking the midpoint between the spring
Equinox and the summer Solstice. This is a power
point in time. There is a definite change in the
energies. We are relaxing into the light of longer
days and the warmth of the sun is increasing. The
Earth is dressed in her green gown. The maypoles
are erect and there is love and frolicking in the
air. Be creative, take walks in nature. Open yourself
to the abundance of the Earth.
The New Moon Chart
This new Moon falls in the sign of Taurus, which
is a fixed, feminine Earth sign. Taurus is the
first of the Earth signs. The qualities it is
known for are dependability, conservatism, practicality,
reliability and sensuality. The lesson of Taurus
is to take time to sensually experience the smells
and tastes of the Earth, the beauties of Nature;
to eat good food, pamper our bodies and fulfil
our basic needs. Taurus likes to do things slowly,
knowing the virtue of patience and that everything
comes to those that wait. Being fixed Earth,
they can be stubborn and not know when to let
go, especially when their security is threatened.
Taurus is the sign that connects us to the creative
potency of the Earth. Whilst being here in France,
I have been thinking about the consequences of
what is happening in Iceland and its affect on
the rest of us. When the volcano erupted, all
airports in England and other Northern European
countries were closed. People were stranded all
over the place. I was very lucky to be able to
stay extra time in my friend’s mom’s lovely farmhouse,
although the guilt and responsibility I felt
to my commitments were overwhelming. [Saturn
in Virgo] I do wonder if this has been a collective
response. Is the Earth showing us the way? Texts
that I was receiving from people were saying
that it was great to have clear skies and no
aviation pollution. For myself, I keep promising
that I’m not going to fly anymore and I did look
into alternative methods of transport to France.
Alas, it was cheaper to fly - how can this be?
As Tchenka writes [Astro Diary 2010] for Taurus,
when the winds of change start to blow, then its
natural reaction is to hang on to security for
grim death. What I sense from the next new Moon
chart, is the winds of change are upon us. It would
be advisable to watch the events in Iceland because
transits to their natal chart suggest that the
changes are far from over. In the new Moon chart,
the Sun and Moon are still in a square aspect to
Mars, reflecting an ongoing dynamic energy. Mars
is assertive and goes for what it wants. Mars went
retrograde on the 20th December 2009 at 19 degrees
41 of Leo and will be back at this degree on the
17th of May 2010. Maybe there has been a collective
feeling of not really knowing what we want.
Venus, the ruler of Taurus, is in Gemini in an
applying square to the ongoing Saturn/ Uranus opposition,
so I imagine that issues of communication and commerce
will be in the news. Maybe the cost of the Icelandic
volcanic eruption will be high on the agenda. Planes
being grounded, people not being able to get to
where they are going and food not being able to
be distributed will all have a knock-on effect.
Never has there been a time when we have been more
aware of how interwoven and interdependent everything
is.
The Full Moon 28th May 00.07 BST.
The full Moon takes place in the sign of Sagittarius
at the degree of the Zodiac that is actually
known as the degree of flight. Sagittarius is
the philosophical sign of the zodiac, the one
who is optimistic, looking for the positive in
any given situation. Maybe the answers we are
looking for lie with another culture. During
this full Moon take time to ponder on your belief
system. Sagittarius loves truth and spiritual
integrity.
The ancient Gods are really active in the latter
part of the month. On the 23rd May, Jupiter opposes
Saturn. These two planets are known as social planets.
Jupiter gives us our faith and Saturn gives us
our limitations. The affect of the opposition aspect
is to bring awareness of the other. On the 24th,
Venus opposes Pluto, presenting another opportunity
of awareness on how to transform our values. On
the 28th May, Uranus moves into Aries and stays
there till the 14th August, when it moves back
into Pisces. Nought degrees of Aries is a very
powerful point. The ingress of Uranus to this point
heralds new beginnings and change is definitely
in the air. So hail the ancient Gods and Goddesses
for the potential of new growth.
I leave you with a quote:
“To be respectable of other peoples’ stories and
their need to become clear of the consequences
of their choices. Our responsibility is to be
in our own truth, each of us empowering ourselves
and collectively inspiring the choice to bring
power of change back into the hearts and hands
of each individual” Manda Clements France 2010.
Blessing of this time to you all Linda Day. |
