Environmental Awareness
We’ve always had an environmental awareness and have recycled and reused in our household forever!
Environmental awareness is a way of life for us so we do all that we can to create as little waste as possible. We use as little plastic as possible and instead use cardboard envelopes, paper tape and reuse cardboard boxes.
We don’t over print
Unlike most companies that create calendars, we don’t over print. This does mean we often sell out and have disappointed customers but we would rather sell out than have huge quantities of calendars go to waste.
Alternative to plastic
It’s quite a minefield out there and although environmental awareness is now mainstream, there are many companies selling products as “green” when in fact the reality is quite different. When there isn’t an alternative to using plastic, we try to use compostable materials. However, it turns out that biodegradable plastic only composts and breaks down when your compost is very hot! We hope that more alternatives to plastic become mainstream and we often talk to our suppliers about our need for green alternatives.
What to look out for…
If you see this logo, you know that your product is sourced from the highest standard of environmental awareness. The FSC standard ensures that the paper is from responsibly managed forests. If you don’t see the FSC logo then its likely the product you are buying does not have this assurance.
Blackmore Printers
We print all our UK diaries and calendars locally in Dorset, UK. We have worked with Blackmore for over 15 years and would highly recommend them for both their expertise and eco credentials.
Blackmore recycle 100% of their waste and haven’t sent anything to the landfill since 2012. All their printing is powered by 100% renewable sources – hydro, wind, solar, biomass and landfill gas. They generate a huge amount of energy from their own solar power panels which cover their warehouse.
They use FSC paper & vegetable inks. Their sheetfed inks and coatings are vegetable based or biodegradable and are all recyclable.

They are in the top 1% of printers in the UK to have achieved this certification and the top 11% of all global companies assessed for sustainability performance.
