The super-powerful New Moon/Solar Eclipse, at 0 degrees Cancer, brings us home to a central point of our existence. It occurs on the world’s axis, square the Galactic Centre and within one degree of the Nodal Axis. This is a potent and sacred point in time. We are centred within feminine, Yin energy, surrounded by nebulous boundaries, many self-imposed. The solar energy flow ceases, fleetingly, as the Moon covers the orb of the Sun, leaving a fiery ring around the disk at the moment of eclipse. Within the stillness, we are held safely – and emotional energy reboots. The flood gates open and love, compassion and all we hold dear from past, present and future flow around us.  We have access to everything that we know about home, family, nurture and security. We are reminded that we are one family of Humanity. We remember, we emote and we empathise with ourselves, the World and the Universe around us.

The Summer Solstice moment, just nine hours before the New Moon, brings the Sun to his furthest point north and, magically, his crescendo of strength is held immobile soon after as the Moon interrupts the energy and her own strength amplifies. The feminine energy of Cancer floods us, reflecting the intensity of our feelings in platinum light. Ruled by the Moon herself and being Cardinal Water in quality, the energy will be extremely intense. We will see ourselves in sharp, ethereal relief and visionary possibilities will erupt in a flow of intuitive energy from the lunar landscape towards our hearts. We have an opportunity to see the true, holistic meaning of our lives. We open to soul knowledge. We instinctively have access to perceive what we need to stabilise our emotions and what is needed to progress forwards the next stage of our journey. The image is of the Moon incarnate, in human form, a beautiful lady – a mother who surrounds us with star-dust arms, murmuring the truths of our existence into our ears.

The astrological climate in which eclipses occur affects the qualities of its energy. This New Moon/Solar Eclipse offers a new start of epic proportions. She amplifies our perceptions and enables us to formulate life changing intentions if we are open to her energy. Unexpected events and opportunities are likely to occur on both personal and worldwide levels as the emotional energy ebbs and flows within and around the eclipse. We all search for safety, nurture and a sense of home. We might find what we need. Cancerian energy underlines issues concerning care, safety, empathy, compassion, what we need to feel fully nourished – and our inter-relatedness within the One World in which we live. We must be open to the messages this event gives us. Affirmations, intentions and wishes made at this time will have powerful consequences.

Affirmation: We give serious consideration when forming our intentions at the approaching New Moon/Solar Eclipse. We strive to live our lives as powerfully, completely and as fully as possible, being in tune with the highest frequencies possible. This month, our intentions radiate from our most sacred internal spaces and our deepest collective awareness. We offer our hope and faith to the Sacred Moon. We are open to the illumination.

• What does ‘home’ mean to you in the closest and widest sense? How can you best nurture it and yourself?
• What do you really need to feel safe and secure?
• Consider your own experience of empathy, compassion, love. How can you actively project these emotions towards yourself and outwards towards others and the world?
• What issues have, so far, been brought to your notice by the intensity of this Solar Eclipse? What are you understanding and processing constructively? (NB. There might be more to come!)
• What beautiful changes can you carefully create from the visions and realisations you receive at this time?

Affirmation: We acknowledge that, although values and belief systems may be shaken at this time of New Moon/Solar Eclipse, we are ready to use its power to change and to transform negativity into positivity. 

IN A MUNDANE KIND OF WAY:
The same New Moon/Solar Eclipse hangs over the main ‘players’ on the World Stage as it does above us all – the politicians and leaders, organisers and law makers – and the astrological climate in which both eclipses occur affects the qualities of its energy and helps spread its influence. The nodal axis is within a degree of the Solar Eclipse, making its influence even more intense. Jupiter and Pluto remain conjunct (exact on June 29th) and the conjunction with Saturn is still powerful. The inevitable changes in our social and environmental structures remain potentially cataclysmic but completely necessary. Uranus stands firm in Taurus and people will continue to rebel and to bring long standing injustices into the open where the acceptance of historical wrongs can no longer be ignored.

The Mars/Neptune conjunction in Pisces squares the eclipse and is sextile Jupiter/Pluto Saturn, making a strong T square with the New Moon/Eclipse. Victims will continue to fight for justice and ‘Right’ is increasingly obvious as being on their side. Those who have been wronged express their justification to force change and Mars causes impulsive, violent and furious outbursts from all sides.

Saturn, newly in Aquarius, is quincunx the New Moon/Solar Eclipse and agitates the ‘powers that be’, reminding them, like a thorn in their sides, of the importance of equal distribution of resources and of equal rights for all people. Resistance to oppression and unfairness grows and calls for change to the ‘status quo’ will not be silenced. Saturn leads the march into Aquarius, holding aloft his banner:
“The imbalance cannot go on!” it proclaims. 
“We’ll see about that!” they reply! 

Meanwhile, the World pandemic and its knockdown effects  rage on around us to greater and lesser degrees. The effects of the eclipse will have long term repercussions and will become part of the story that eventually brings this tempestuous era to conclusion. Either by luck or cosmic design, the stars have given us a shiny gift for the New Moon/Solar Eclipse! She offers us six planets in retrograde (a ‘pause’ option)! Jupiter, Pluto, Saturn, Mercury – and Neptune (conjunct Mars in Pisces) is stationary retrograde from 22nd June. This gives us all space in which to ponder the spiritual machinations and implications of the present and to tune into the concepts of Universal Love and One-ness!  Venus, retrograde – but going direct in Gemini on 25th – has allowed us space to consider what we really need and value as opposed to what present values of the world have imposed upon us. We have been given time to process the emotional and physical implications of change and to incubate new ideas, concepts, values that are more in tune with changes. (Hopefully, those in charge might also have found time to consider ways forward that access compassion and care.)

We all share a responsibility to tune in to our highest possible frequency at this time – project positivity, love, nourishment and compassion to ourselves and the world. We strive to be ‘the best we can be’. If we can actively spread more spiritual awareness, compassion, gentleness and light into the ‘spiritual ether’ and the collective consciousness and if we can accept our own and others’ vulnerabilities, perhaps we will move closer together.

We are reminded, at this time, that we come from the stars and will, one day, return to them.  Within the intense energy of Cancer, we hold the awareness that we are all made from the same stardust and we are all part of the same Human Family. We aspire together towards a new, changed future with Hope and Love.
